How to mark a property as No Longer Managed?
How to Stop Managing a Property for a Landlord
There may be times when you are no longer responsible for managing a property on behalf of a landlord, such as when they decide to sell it. Follow these steps to properly close the management account:
-
Locate the Property:
-
Enter the postcode or partial address of the property.
-
Click on the search icon to find the property.
-
-
Select the Property:
-
Once located, click on the address card of the property.
-
-
Change Management Status:
-
Click on the Actions button.
-
On the drop-down menu, select the option "No Longer Managed."
-
-
Update Landlord Details:
-
The details for the landlord will be pre-populated.
-
Add any additional information that would be helpful for the record.
-
-
Complete the Process:
-
Click on the Stop Management button at the bottom of the form.
-
After completing these steps, you will notice that the entire record is greyed out. This indicates that the management account has been closed. The audit trail will show the history of actions taken, but no further activity can be performed on the record. This ensures that OVO can appropriately close the account and begin billing the new responsible bill payer.
